All-star lineup confirmed for this weekend’s electric CAKE Worlds Race in Del Mar, CA

The first North American CAKE Worlds Race attracts stars from several two-wheeled disciplines – including experienced Supercross rider Cole Seely and multiple X Games Gold medalist Ashley Fiolek.

CAKE the Swedish maker of premium lightweight, electric motorcycles, today announced a star-studded lineup of riders confirmed to compete in this weekend’s all-electric CAKE Worlds Race in Del Mar, CA. This Saturday, the 30th of April, sees prized riders such as Seth Stevens (MTB - current CAKE Worlds champion), Ashley Fiolek (MX - X Games Gold medalist, WMA Pro National Champion) and Cole Seely (MX - multiple AMA Supercross contestant), compete in the North American qualifier of the global One Design race, CAKE Worlds.

"The idea behind CAKE Worlds is to ignite and inspire towards a new and vivid era of clean, silent, compact and inclusive racing. An agile and cost effective format, easy to realize with the ability of attracting riders and spectators around the world. Our amazing lineup of riders, coming from all sorts of disciplines, perfectly demonstrates this”, says Stefan Ytterborn, founder and CEO of Cake.

“I will try to defend my title as the current Cake Worlds champion in Del Mar this weekend. It feels exciting to do it in my home country and I’m honored to play a part in officially introducing the 4X racing format in the US”, comments Seth Stevens.

“This is a great opportunity to show how the sport is truly inclusive since women and men are able to compete against each other in the same category, thanks to the light and snappy bikes. I’m stoked about the competition and to learn more about CAKE and their bikes”, adds Ashley Fiolek.

Amateurs welcome – all equipment provided

Following on the heels of Saturdays’ Invitational Race, the CAKE Worlds North American Open Race takes place on Sunday, May 1st. Here, non-pro’s get to step up to the challenge and race the same 4X track as the professional riders – with the chance of also qualifying for the CAKE Worlds World Finals, taking place at Pala, CA’s Fox Raceway, in September. The winner will also win a brand new Cake Makka scooter.

Regardless of previous experience, gender or two-wheeled preference, any rider who would like to partake in the CAKE Worlds Open Race can sign up to race here. To further lower the bar of entry for all talents, not only will the Kalk OR Race motorcycle used by all competing riders be provided by Cake, riders without their own protective gear will also be able to borrow everything they need on-site.
