CAKE Boosts Its Executive Management Team

Accelerating toward 2021 and beyond, CAKE strengthens its operational, marketing, and financial management capabilities.

CAKE, the Swedish manufacturer of lightweight electric performance motorcycles, today announced the addition of three new executive managers at its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. Joining the team is Per Werin, COO; Pontus Winberg, CMO; and John Aspemar, CFO.

“We now have a broad, competent, and very experienced team in place at the highest levels of management that will help CAKE to realize many of the ambitions we have in our operations, marketing, sales, and financial divisions. It’s the result of a long and thorough vetting process and we couldn’t be happier with the level of expertise these individuals bring to the business,” says CAKE founder and CEO, Stefan Ytterborn. “And, with the empowerment of these super leaders, it gives us the ability to take the next big leap towards global leadership and 200K+ units sold annually in the premium segment of electric motorcycles. This is the next gear I´ve been waiting to shift into!”

Per Werin joins CAKE as Chief Operating Officer. Previous to this role, Per served as CMO and Managing Director at NorthStar, a global leader in reliable and sustainable power solutions. “CAKE offers the unbeatable combination of exciting and fun products, a clear and responsible agenda, and a massive growth potential,” remarks Per. “As COO I'll be heading our efforts in structuring and scaling CAKE operations to ensure we continue to develop and supply products that consistently deliver the best performance and quality on the market. I'm thrilled to be part of the CAKE family and to be working with Stefan and the new management team on this exciting journey!”

Pontus Winberg joins CAKE as Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to joining CAKE, Pontus held the position of CEO at GodEl, Sweden’s most sustainable grid power supplier. Commenting on his transition to the CAKE team, Pontus says, “I’m thrilled to start my journey at Cake! CAKE’s motorcycles are built with a purpose to inspire people to contribute to speeding up the journey towards a zero-emission society by combining excitement and responsibility. Apart from being a light, clean, and quiet electric motorcycle, the Ösa is derived from the diversity of work and differentiated needs of the customer. What to bring and what to carry varies greatly between the office worker and the craftsman, and the roads toward the destination include highways and trails and everything in between. As a result, CAKE’s solution was to build an electric and modular utility commuter vehicle that serves a wider range of riders with off-road capabilities.
