CAKE Strengthens its Intellectual Property Through Exclusive Use of “C” Logo
The Swedish electric motorcycle manufacturer proves its dominance in the electric motorbike space by securing exclusive use of its trademarked “C” logo.
The Swedish manufacturer of lightweight electric off-road performance motorcycles, today announced it has established exclusive use of its “C” symbol and logotype. As a result, German electric scooter rental provider COUP Mobility GmbH, with operations in Berlin and Paris, will withdraw and stop using their “C” symbol. The agreement reached between the two companies follows on the heels of CAKE’s successful launch last month at the Outdoor Retailer and ISPO shows. Furthering the brand’s strength, its first model, the Kalk, was recognized as “Best in Show” by several outdoor industry publications.
“Given the success we’re experiencing in introducing the CAKE Kalk to the market, it’s clear just how much the category of electric off-road motorcycles is resonating with outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers,” said Stefan Ytterborn, CEO and founder of CAKE.
“While there has been some confusion in the market as to the CAKE logo, we’re pleased to have established common understanding with COUP, and we’ll continue building on our increasing awareness with people who want to explore the outdoors with respect.”
COUP unintentionally used the “C” symbol on its scooters and helmets, which has caused some confusion in the market with reference to the trademarked CAKE symbol and logotype. Following the agreement, additional steps will be taken to avoid confusion in the digital world.
