CAKE Expands into North America with New Hire, Dan Green
The Swedish electric motorcycle brand establishes a U.S. office, headed by Dan Green
CAKE, the Swedish manufacturer of lightweight electric off-road performance motorcycles, today announced the expansion of operations with a new North American office located in California headed up by new hire Dan Green. As Head of North American Operations, Green will oversee the establishment of a North American presence and partnerships across the continent.
“Our aim at CAKE is to turn the motorized two-wheeled future upside down with a clear mission to speed up the transition towards a zero emission society while still enhancing fun and excitement,” says Stefan Ytterborn, founder and CEO of CAKE. “We believe Dan is just the guy to help us drive this mission in North America.”
Green, who raced motorcycles and cars professionally for ten years, joins CAKE from DGR, a self-owned company specializing in marketing and strategy consulting for a variety of industries, including the automotive/motorcycle, motorsports, and cycling industries with several extremely progressive ventures in the design and architecture realm. He also previously handled PR and marketing duties for Ritte Cycles, establishing a brand presence in the cycling and outdoor industries.
“Being able to get in on the ground floor with this innovative brand is so exciting,” says Dan Green. “CAKE is all about exploration and discovery and I can’t wait to bring this new category of adventure to North America.”
Green’s role will include setting up demo hubs around the United States for potential buyers to ride, establishing partnerships with ski resorts and other outdoor institutions for customers to use in the summer months, and bringing bikes to various events, growing brand awareness on a public level.
The all-electric high-performance off-road motorcycle brand is designed for exploration and discovery. First launched this past January at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Denver, the first model - the Kalk, was recognized as “Best in Show” by several outdoor industry publications and has received numerous accolades since. Now available for pre-order, the Production Series Kalk retails for $13,000 USD.
