CAKE Continues to Grow, Hires Zach Clayton as U.S. Brand Manager
The Swedish electric motorcycle brand continues to ship bikes, accept orders for the street legal Kalk&, and expand its team across the world.
CAKE, the Swedish manufacturer of lightweight electric performance motorcycles, today announced that its North American team welcomes Zach Clayton. The announcement comes just a few days after business and sustainability expert Anna Ryott joined the board. Clayton will take on the role of U.S. Brand Manager and oversee partnerships and manage relationships with like-minded brands, dedicated retailers, and key athletes, while introducing the brand to new markets and growing awareness on a public level.
“To have Zach on board to manage the brand across North America is great,” says Stefan Ytterborn, founder and CEO of CAKE. “Having someone whose personal beliefs align with our own will only further our mission and commitment to creating a zero emission society. Zach is just the guy to help us continue to grow the brand in North America.”
Clayton may have grown up ski racing, but has a personal passion for motorcycles, riding dirt bikes in his spare time. He has spent the last seven years at POC, where his most recent position was Sports Marketing Manager. Working both in North America and globally, Clayton helped launch POC into the cycling industry and create a sports marketing strategy for various business categories.
“As long as I can remember, two wheels have been my passion,” says Zach Clayton. “Joining a brand like CAKE, that has the ability to combine excitement and responsibility while also offering up a product that can go on and off-road and appeals to both experienced and novice riders alike, to me, that encompasses the full package.”
Built with a purpose to inspire people to contribute to speeding up the journey towards a zero emission society by combining excitement and responsibility, the all-electric high-performance motorbike brand is designed for exploration and discovery. First launched in January 2018 at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Denver, the first model – the Kalk – was recognized as “Best in Show” by several outdoor industry publications and has received numerous accolades since. CAKE has shipped hundreds of bikes to customers and is in the process of accepting pre-orders for the street legal Kalk&. The new bike costs $14,000 USD with a deposit of $200, and will begin shipping in late summer.
