CAKE, the Swedish manufacturer of premium lightweight electric motorcycles, proudly announces the delivery start for its much-anticipated Bukk platform. The first Bukk has been shipped today, with the remaining Limited Edition bikes to be shipped and delivered shortly. This event marks the transition to full-scale production of the Bukk series later this spring.
The Bukk platform exemplifies a new standard in electric drivetrain innovation, continuing CAKE's tradition of offering a leading power-to-weight ratio in its lightweight motorcycles. The lightest configuration of the Bukk weighs in at just 89 kilos (196 lbs), making it a paradigm of lightweight design combined with robustness and performance. Powered by "Jante", the newly developed CAKE Internal Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor, the Bukk delivers an impressive 456 Nm of instant torque. This formidable power allows the motorcycle to accelerate from 0-45 km/h in a mere 2.15 seconds.
Street legal with its roots and purpose for enduro and off-road, the Bukk platform provides riders with unparalleled agility and speed in the wild, without disturbing or polluting the environment. Enhancing its versatility, the platform includes two suspension options, WP and Formula, to cater to different riding preferences. Additionally, riders have the flexibility to choose between purely off-road or street-legal versions, further customizing their riding experience.
Stefan Ytterborn, Founder and CEO of CAKE, shared his enthusiasm:
“Establishing a new category takes time. I feel encouraged to see that the market starts to adapt and understands that the future of riding is lightweight. With the Bukk platform, we're bringing unmatched light electric performance into the hands of our riders, it creates so many new riding opportunities and it sets the next chapter in lightweight electric off-road motorcycling history.”
The Bukk is available for order starting at $11,070 / €11,070, with configurations easily customizable pre-purchase via ridecake.com.
Adding to the excitement, the test results are phenomenal with testimonials from key opinion leaders:
— Mike Giese
CAKE Worlds Champion Men's 2022 and ex-professional motocross racer
"The new bike was quite the experience. The added power and increase in suspension created a brand-new riding experience. You could go faster, jump further and ride the new bike on larger tracks. The geometry and ride feel felt closer to a motocross bike, further closing the gap between the Kalk and a traditional motocross bike. I am very much looking forward to seeing people's reactions to this new bike."
— Remi Bizouard

"The Bukk feels extremely powerful, lightweight and nimble. The bike geometry is robust and well balanced on trails and in the air. Can't wait to ride more. This creates new riding possibilities you couldn't do with a full size bike."
— Linus Bankler
BIKE Motorrad Nordic
"I willingly admit that it's one of the best things I've tested within enduro!"
— Motorrad & Reisen
"Impressive agility, fast and excellent flying capabilities."
The name Bukk, meaning Thunder Cloud in the ancient language of Gotland, reflects the motorcycle's powerful essence and CAKE's deep connection to its Swedish roots.
